Elmer and Grandpa Eldo by David McKee

Its been a year, since Krishang's Grandpa passed away. He loved his Grandpa(dada) the best...still does. Krishang used to wait for his dada to come home from work. The minute he finds that dada is climbing the stairs, he used to jump all around with joy and dance about. His dada used to play cricket, hide and seek and tell him lots and lots of stories. Dada was his best buddy. He misses him a lot.

I was a bit skeptical about reading this book...but there were so many things in the book that dada and Krishang did together...i felt PULLED by it...

Grandpa aka dada is the most important person in a child's life. No matter how hard one tries NO ONE can change their value, love or even take their place.

In this book...
Elmer the beautiful patchwork elephant is different from all other elephants. He has colourful patches on his body! And he is all ready, with Grandpa Eldo's favourite fruit on his head to visit him. Elmer was visiting Grandpa after a llllllllong time. Would Grandpa be pleased to see Elmer? Would Grandpa remember all the fun they had? What if he forgot? What would Elmer do?

Winsome illustrations by David Makee attracts the child to notice the minute detailing like shocked rabbits and birds. The expressions of all creatures holds the child's attention.

This book will take you back to the days you spent with your Grandpa. It brought tears in our eyes. We talked about what our grandpas did for us...what we liked the best and how much we miss our grandpa.

Must read for children.

 In this book:
Piggie loves to dance and wants Gerald to dance too. But Gerald believes that he can't dance. That ELEPHANTS don't dance..Lets read the book tonight and find out!

Do you think Piggie can change his mind? Do you think Piggie can teach Gerald? What would happen if Gerald tries??

Mumma loves to dance so does Krishang (though he jumps more like Gerald than dance!) But still Mumma hopes that Krishang would let Mumma be Piggie while reading today.

Before we read...we shall try to draw expressions like Mo Willems does for Pigeon, Gerald and Piggie..

Yup all books end. But Mo Willems knows that kids want more. So he stores a special surprise for the little readers...and they love to find these out!
